A ‘music photeo’ by Ilana Block and Ezra Soiferman
"The Wildlife - The Walled Life" (watch) is the first artistic collaboration for Montreal naturopathic doctor and wildlife photographer Ilana Block and Montreal documentary filmmaker and street photographer Ezra Soiferman and represents a way for them to share their vision of getting a pro-animal, pro-environment message out there through photography and music. As they sing on the video's soundtrack, "May the animals live long, may the chaos settle down."

"The Wildlife - The Walled Life" is a short, meditative musical journey artistically blending breathtaking wildlife images with vivid photos of the many stunning animal murals dotting the landscape of Montreal. The nature-infused ‘music photeo’* was photographed and edited by Ilana Block (she provided the wildlife images) and Ezra Soiferman (he provided the animal mural images) with the video’s soundtrack sung by the pair.
The environmentally-themed song was written and composed by Soiferman with musical co-production and arrangement by Gregg Silver.
“The Wildlife - The Walled Life” was created for a photo slideshow challenge at the Montreal Camera Club (one of North America’s oldest camera clubs, founded in 1892), where the two are members. The video premiered at an online event for Montreal Camera Club members on April 12th, 2021. It launched on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram the following day.
